Qualifications, training and skills required
  • In addition to a strong academic background, AI researchers need to have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They should be familiar with programming languages such as Python and R, and be able to work with large data sets. Good communication skills are also important, as AI researchers often work in interdisciplinary teams and need to be able to explain their work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Extra desired training
  • A PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is often required for advanced positions in AI research
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques
  • Experience with reinforcement learning
  • Ability to conduct independent research and write research papers
