Role Information

The Team

R3's Digital Currencies and Digital Assets team comprises innovative problem-solvers and strategic, fast-moving team members collaborating with customers to solve challenges and build solutions leveraging R3's flagship DLT technology Corda. As part of the Product team, you will help to drive successful customer outcomes by defining and delivering end-to-end customer solutions, including and not limited to Design, Build & Deployment phases, working closely with our Product Managers and engineering teams at each step.

Responsibilities

Responsible for innovation and end-to-end launch of products.

Define, prioritise and manage the product backlog, collaborating with the Product Manager and Solution Architects within organisation to accurately articulate product and customer requirements.

Following agile principles, take initiatives from the Product Manager, breaks and writes into features and user stories together with clear and concise acceptance criteria.

Works closely with the development and QA teams to demonstrate product value and owns and executes the product roadmap.

Own the product backlog, ensuring priorities are clear by obtaining input from various stakeholders and be the point of contact for the development team.

Where applicable, create reusable templates and artefacts needed to complete the functional phase of the project, including and not limited to business flow diagrams and functional specifications.

Prepare and sign-off of any deliverables of working solutions or POCs to both internal and customer teams.

Develops and maintains appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.

Ability to convey and simplify technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborating with UX designers to create mockups of what the final product will look like.

Work closely with the Product Manager to ensure you gain a depth of knowledge of the product strategy and vision, market and customer needs to ensure product-market fit and achieve overall product success.

Daily functions will include:

Breaking product management’s epics into user stories

Arranging and prioritizing sprints

Co-ordinating sprint planning

Evaluating progress at each stage of development

Answering dev questions about the reasoning for user stories or tasks

Outline milestones and deliverables and identifies opportunities and risks

Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen

Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment

High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability

Education & Experience

Experience of 3+ years in a product owner role.

Experience working across the Financial Services domain, one or more of the following is desirable: Retail payments, Wholesale Banking, Capital Markets, Fintech.

Proven track record of delivering data driven solutions with a customer-first mindset.

Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and high degree of proficiency in prototyping, iterative development, understanding of Agile principles.

Passion for DLT/Blockchain technologies and benefits, although previous experience is not expected.

Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
